This review is for alterations only. Fantastic seamstress (seam-man?)
for very reasonable prices. I've had -jeans hemmed (original
hem and non-original hem) -pants taken in from disco bell bottoms
to slight boot cut -expensive suit coat that looked like a tent
when I put it on, but after it was tailored it fit like a glove
-skirts shortened and lengthened
They do it all and they do it well.
I've moved downtown so it is a pain in the butt to get there,
but it is absolutely worth the drive.
Mr. J is AMAZING and never fails. He works wonders on all items.
Recently, I brought in a vintage wool coat with rabbit fur collar
that was from the 1960s. I loved the coat but it was definitely
like 4 sizes too big when I bought it. Mr. J essentially reconstructed
this coat and made it fit me perfectly for uber cheap.
A good tailor is hard to find, I may continue to bring home
items to get tailored by Mr. J until I find a good tailor in
Yes. I've cheated on you.
I've gone to the cleaners by my house.. the one by my office..
the one on the way to the gym... and yes.. they have all done
the same thing... left me w/ high bill, and a crappy tailoring
job -- I've been abused, and used, and you always take me back
Mr. j. -- But no more. No more will I cheat on you. This cleaners
& alterations job is truly the best. They are quick turn
around on dry cleaning, pleasant, respectful and always good..
But Mr J and his mad skills on tailoring. Pants, skirts, dresses,
costumes, Full on wool coats -- Mr. J has always been there
and helped me take clothes that I was convinced I needed, but
weren't in my size, and made my dreams come true. Convinced
that I am not short, he tailors my pants time and time again.
His work is neat and well crafted. I've always been happy, and
his prices are VERY VERY reasonable. I had a HIDEOUS HIDEOUS
bridesmaid dress that I'm sure was about 12 sizes too big for
me, and he reconstructed it perfectly!! He's tailored halloween
costumes, and never judged the ridiculousness that I've dressed
up as (or at least never to my face)
He is really the best, and I'll make the trip always to see
you. I'm in this now. I'm committed..... Yelp.com

reviewing Mr. J's outstanding customer service.
In San Diego on business,
I needed next-day dry cleaning with Saturday pickup. iPhone
-- aroundme -- dry cleaners -- confirm --drop off dry cleaning.
Well, 3 hours after I dropped off a bundle of slacks and shirts,
I learned my trip is being cut short and (now) I am flying
out in a matter of hours.
I rushed to Mr. J's and asked if there was ANY way I could
get my items returned; cleaned or not. After explaining that
they were probably mid-cycle and would most likely be unretrievable,
the attendant who helped me, 'Israel', spent the better part
of 15 minutes searching for my items. Ultimately, 3/4 of my
load was not only discovered, but had already been cleaned
and pressed!! To top it all of, Israel volunteered to personally
drive the remaining items to my hotel room once he got off
for the day, which really helped me out quite a bit. I was
resigned to leaving my items behind, but Mr. J's HOOKED ME
Travelers and out-of-towners take note: This is a business
who understands your needs, and who will go WAY out of thier
way to accomodate you.
